Building Patrol

Building restrictions are in place after closing Hrs. On Sunday’s and holidays a request must be submitted from the H.O.D for building use during these times. Building Patrol external security members are uniformed personnel who provide security as required across campus. Building Patrol members are equipped with a Campus Police radio and are in continual contact with Campus Police. There are three services available:

Building Security

The external security patrol designated buildings after hours to ensure all exterior doors are secure. They report any unusual findings within the buildings, whether caused by crime or building systems failures.

Weekend Building Patrol

Working in conjunction with the Administrative office of the University of Guyana, they are responsible for opening and closing rooms that have been reserved through the Administration. They also provide after-hours access to community members when approved by the Campus Police Duty Manger.

Casual Building Patrol

When required, members of the external security patrol are called upon to provide static and roaming patrols of buildings on campus; manage access control; and provide security as required.

Patrolling Designated Study Areas

The following as designated after hour study areas:-
  1. Library
  2. Stables
  3. CBJ
For students who are studying after hours this areas is monitor and randomly patrol by the security staff.
